Adjustable 35mm film camera (It must have the ability to
be
manually adjusted, meaning shutter speed
and aperture
adjustments and have a built-in light meter). $150+
UV
Filter for your camera to protect the lens from being scratched.
$Price varies based on brand and ring size.
Black
and White 35mm film (ASA/ISO 400). Kodak Tri-x is a great
film to begin with. Ilford HP5 is ok too. Do
NOT buy
any film that can be developed in a color machine (C-41 process),
It doesn't work the same. Buy your film at a camera store,
not Long’s or a supermarket. You will use A
MINIMUM of
10 rolls of film. $3.50+ each
Photo
paper: Start with 8X10
RC (resin coated),
variable
contrast. Any surface is fine, but pearl is a good
starter. Later, you may use different sizes or surfaces, so
the amount you purchase is up to you, but you will need at
least 25 sheets to start. Ilford or Arista multigrade papers
are good to begin with.
Do Not buy Fiber based paper.
Do Not open the package in light; you will
ruin it.

Portfolio for submitting assignments. A legal envelope is fine.
