Welcome to the With Meat
Digital Primer!
This tutorial page and the information contained within was designed as a presentation
page for a couple of my beginning digital camera courses. I find that it works
well as a supplemental to the textbooks as well as a good resource for students.
With this in mind please take into consideration the following:
Disclaimer...
1.) This is a supplemental resource, it
does not contain everything.
2.) This resource does not exempt you from
reading your camera manual.
3.) This resource does not exempt you from
coming to classes.
4.) This resource is constantly in flux
as technology, information and theory constantly change.
5.) Knowing this information does not guarantee
perfect images, but it will help. If there was one setting
to get great pictures every time, we would all use it and
this information (and my job) would be useless.
6.) Quantity is Quality! The more you shoot, the better you will get.
7.) Just organizing and formatting this information takes an enormous amount
of time, so please be patient as things change and grow.
8.) I am fallible and an atrocious speller.
Let me know if you catch a misspelling or something that is not
quite right.
Some Photo Truths...
1.) Everything in photography is a misnomer.
2.) Everything in photography is in a factor of 2.
3.) Everything in photography is a trade-off.
4.) There is no perfect setting for every shot.
5.) I can crash both a PC and a MAC equally.
6.) I can drop both a Nikon and a Canon equally.
7.) The best images happen when you don't have your camera.
8.) You must carry your camera with you at all
times!
9.) It's not the size of the equipment...
10.) With Digital Photography, anyone can luck into a great shot.
