Parts is Parts
a.k.a. Collage

Your Assignment:

This assignment is designed to utilize blending tools and techniques to create a single cohesive image from multiple sources.

In this assignment you will use masking techniques to islolate portions of an image and then recombine those parts into a new image with a completely different intent than the original.

Technical:
Concentrate on your accuracy in selection and masking.
Concentrate on trying to make colors and exposures match.
Concentrate on using layers effectively.
Concentrate on Size and Resolution.

The Project:

You will create two (2) different collages:

1.) From images in project #2

--you must use a part from every image in project #2 (total of 5 images minimum) so you must do project #2 first.

--you must create an image with a completely different intent than any of the originals. Their odd relationship should help create the completely new idea.

--you may not create a collage that is nothing more than a collection of stuff. Think about which parts to use and which to delete. Then think about how those parts relate to each other and how they can be used to create something new.

2.) Open

--you must use a minimum of 5 different images as source images; what you choose is up to you.

You will turn in:

2 documents (.psd or .tiff) with layers (8.5" x 11" at 300 ppi)
2 prints 8.5" x 11"
